Dear President Obama,
I voted for you... twice... but I have to tell you that giving raises to congress and your vice president is about as tone-deaf a move as you've made. Whoever advised you to do this must have smoked breakfast, needs to put the pipe down, and just back away slowly.
I get there was a freeze on pay raises. Many of the government employees whose pay will go up probably need it and deserve it. But just as some CEOs (those who aren't douche bags) symbolically take $1 in salary when their companies aren't doing well, the VPOTUS and congress need to make similar symbolic sacrifices as well.
You're rewarding congress for doing next to nothing? Has failing up become the new standard for success? Are they third-graders being graduated to fourth, just for showing up?
Yes. Yes. And yes.
Oops. You aren't running for re-election, are you.
